The Child Growth Foundation’s 3½hr, half-day course is listed in the Department of Health Directory "Obesity training courses in Primary Care".  It is a popular cut-down version of the full-day course which allows PCTs to train all their staff working with children in a single day. It spells out in detail how, with what and when head circumference, length/height & weight should be assessed for clinical and public health use in the battle against obesity in particular and growth-related conditions in general. The techniques are not only demonstrated but also practiced by course participants but time does not allow the workshops giving participants the opportunity to plot and interpret growth curves.
